Toledo, OH (October 17, 2024) – A traffic accident in west Toledo resulted in injuries to a woman and a child on the evening of October 16. The crash occurred around 5:17 p.m. on Douglas Road, near Kenwood Boulevard, prompting a response from local law enforcement.
According to the police report, two vehicles were traveling south on Douglas Road when a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Toledo woman veered off the road and struck a pole. Following this initial impact, the same vehicle was then struck by another southbound vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Toledo woman. The vehicle operated by the 35-year-old contained two young passengers, a 3-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl.
Emergency responders reported that both the driver and her 3-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the 5-year-old passenger and the other driver were unharmed in the incident.
The cause of the first vehicle’s departure from the roadway remains under investigation by Toledo police.
