Midland, TX (December 9, 2024) – A pedestrian tragically lost their life following a vehicle accident at the intersection of Lamesa Rd and Wall St late Saturday night. The Midland Police Department (MPD) is investigating the incident.
According to MPD, the crash occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. on December 7. A man driving a 2007 GMC pickup was traveling north in the outside lane of the 100 block of South Lamesa Rd. As the driver approached the intersection, he noticed a male pedestrian in the center of his lane. Despite attempting to avoid the individual, the driver was unable to prevent the collision, striking the pedestrian with the front right side of the vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead. As of the latest update, the pedestrian’s next of kin had not yet been notified. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
