Abilene, TX (October 17, 2024) – A pedestrian was taken to the hospital following a crash that occurred in south Abilene on the evening of October 16. Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 8:10 p.m. at the intersection of Nonesuch Road and South Clack, located in front of the Sedona Apartments.
According to police reports, the pedestrian, along with their dog, was crossing the road when they failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle. The collision resulted in the pedestrian being struck by the vehicle, leading to their transport to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses at the scene noted that the dog was also involved in the incident and appeared to be in distress. After the collision, the dog ran away but was later found. It is currently being held by Abilene Animal Control until its owner can retrieve it.
