Cloverdale, AL (October 17, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a 72-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle near Alabama 157. The victim, identified as Joyce Mansell from Florence, was involved in the incident around 3 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders, including an Air E Vac, were dispatched to the location to assist. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Mansell succumbed to her injuries. The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident early Wednesday morning, stating that the pedestrian had passed away due to the collision.
