Yuma, AZ (December 22, 2024) – Authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run after a person was found dead near South Avenue 36 East and Interstate 8, approximately 37 miles east of Yuma, on Friday morning.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene around 11 a.m. after receiving reports of a suspicious death. Preliminary findings from the Criminal Investigations Bureau indicate that the individual was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene.
