Yreka, CA (March 10, 2025) – A hit-and-run accident with injuries occurred late Sunday night on northbound Interstate 5 near the State Route 96 off-ramp.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), a white semi-truck with an open trailer carrying wood sideswiped another vehicle before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained injuries, and emergency responders, including CAL FIRE, were dispatched to provide medical aid.
Authorities reported that CAL FIRE spotted a semi-truck pulled over near Bailey Hill and attempted to locate the suspect vehicle. The Oregon State Police (OSP) were also notified to assist in the investigation. A tow truck was later requested for the damaged vehicle.
The investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
