York County, SC (February 21, 2025) – A bicyclist was fatally struck in a collision on S.C. Highway 55 near Soaring Eagles Rd on Thursday morning.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. as both a 2023 Toyota sedan and the bicyclist were traveling southbound on Hwy 55. Authorities reported that the Toyota struck the bicyclist from behind, leading to fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that the bicyclist had died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
