Wyndmere, ND (November 18, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 27 on Friday evening injured five people, including three children, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred shortly after 6 p.m. when a 2007 SUV driven by Tamara Eppler, 56, of Wyndmere, was traveling eastbound on Highway 27. Eppler entered the intersection and collided with a pickup truck driven by Troy Holsing, 56, of Horace, who was heading south on Highway 18. Authorities confirmed that Holsing had the right of way, as Highway 27 is controlled by a stop sign at the intersection.
The impact caused both vehicles to veer into the ditch, with Holsing’s pickup overturning. Eppler and her passengers, including a 7-year-old girl and two 6-year-old boys from Lisbon, were injured and transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo by ambulance. Holsing also sustained injuries and was taken to the same hospital.
The original crash report mistakenly stated that Holsing’s pickup struck the SUV, but this was corrected in a later update. The incident remains under investigation as authorities seek to determine additional details.
Our thoughts are with those injured in this collision in Wyndmere, especially the children. We wish them a swift and full recovery.
