Wright County, MO (January 13, 2025) – A rear-end collision occurred Saturday afternoon on Highway 95, approximately ten miles north of Mountain Grove, leaving several individuals injured. Emergency responders, including Wright County Sheriff’s Department personnel, were on the scene to assist the victims and manage the aftermath.

The crash was reported at approximately 12:00 PM and involved a 2008 Ford Explorer and a 2001 Dodge Dakota. According to authorities, the accident occurred when the Dodge Dakota attempted to make a right-hand turn and was struck from behind by the Ford Explorer. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. The Ford was towed by Mayfield Towing at the owner’s request, while the Dodge was driven from the scene.

Three individuals sustained injuries in the crash. The driver of the Dodge, a 64-year-old male from Norwood, MO, and two occupants—a 24-year-old female and a 4-year-old female, both from Mountain Grove, MO—were transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment. All injured individuals were reported to have been wearing safety devices at the time of the collision. The driver of the Ford, a 35-year-old male from Mountain Grove, MO, was not reported to have been injured and was not using a safety device.

The incident is under investigation by Trooper J. L. Dedmon, with assistance from Trooper C. K. Johnson and the Wright County Sheriff’s Department. Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their quick and full recovery.

Preventing Rear-End Collisions in Missouri

Rear-end collisions are a frequent occurrence on Missouri’s roadways, often resulting from following too closely, distractions, or misjudging the actions of other drivers. The crash on Highway 95 highlights the importance of maintaining safe following distances, especially when vehicles are preparing to turn or stop.

Missouri drivers are encouraged to practice defensive driving techniques, such as staying alert, avoiding distractions, and maintaining adequate space between vehicles. These habits can significantly reduce the likelihood of accidents and protect the safety of all road users.

For individuals involved in rear-end collisions, navigating medical care, insurance claims, and vehicle repairs can be a challenging process. Seeking professional advice and support can help ensure victims receive fair treatment and adequate compensation.
