Vehicle Overturns in Missouri
Overturn accidents are particularly dangerous due to the forces involved and the potential for ejection. The combination of speed, failure to negotiate curves, and lack of proper safety precautions often leads to serious or fatal outcomes. In this case, the failure to wear a safety belt may have contributed to the fatality.
Missouri drivers are reminded to always wear seat belts and to remain cautious when navigating curves, especially on less familiar roads. The state’s rural routes, such as RT-U, can be especially hazardous when conditions are not ideal.
What to Do After an Overturn Accident
If you are involved in an overturn accident, take the following actions:
- Check for Injuries: Make sure all occupants are safe and call emergency services.
- Stabilize the Vehicle: If possible, make sure the vehicle is stable to avoid further injury or damage.
- File a Police Report: Always report the accident to authorities for documentation.
- Seek Medical and Legal Advice: In cases of serious injury or fatalities, contact a lawyer to protect your legal rights.
