Worcester, MA (January 12, 2025) – A 71-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle shortly after exiting a bus on Friday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. in the area of 265 Lake Ave.
According to police, the man had just disembarked from a bus and was crossing Lake Ave from east to west when he was struck by a northbound car. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and the injured man was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A nurse at the scene provided immediate assistance to the victim before emergency crews arrived. Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
