Woodbridge, VA (December 3, 2024) – A chaotic multi-vehicle crash occurred in Woodbridge at around 8:15 a.m. on December 2, leaving four people with serious injuries and damaging a total of 11 vehicles. The crash took place at the intersection of Gordon Blvd and Riverview Ln when the driver of a 2025 Mercedes GLE, attempting to make a left turn, failed to yield the right of way. This led to a collision with a 2012 Freightliner heavy-duty truck traveling southbound on Gordon Blvd. The impact caused the Mercedes to spin into two other vehicles.
The Freightliner driver lost control, veering into oncoming traffic, striking two additional vehicles before careening down an embankment and into a residential parking lot. The truck hit several parked cars and then slammed into a building, coming to a stop inside the complex.
Four individuals were hospitalized with serious injuries, including the 67-year-old driver of the Mercedes, a 40-year-old man from Fredericksburg, a 24-year-old woman from Fairfax, and a 62-year-old woman from Williamsburg. A 48-year-old man from Woodbridge was treated on the scene for pain. The driver of the Freightliner, a 32-year-old Woodbridge man, was uninjured.
The crash caused significant damage to 11 vehicles, including five parked cars. Charges are pending as the investigation continues. Local authorities are actively working to determine the cause of this incident. Emergency responders from Prince William County were quick to assess and treat the injured victims, ensuring they were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent care. While the 67-year-old Mercedes driver and others sustained serious injuries, the driver of the Freightliner was fortunate to escape without harm.
We wish those hurt a swift recovery.
