Wilmington, MA (February 27, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized following a head-on collision Wednesday night in Wilmington, according to local authorities.
The Wilmington Police Department reported that the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Salem St. The accident involved a Lexus RX 330 SUV and a Jeep Cherokee SUV.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide aid. One of the drivers was conscious and transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries, while the other driver had to be airlifted to a hospital via MedFlight due to the severity of their condition.
Officials closed Salem St Wednesday night to allow for the emergency response and crash investigation. Authorities expect the roadway to be fully reopened by Thursday morning.
