Whitpain Twp., PA (January 1, 2025) – A tragic crash on New Year’s Eve claimed the lives of two elderly women and left a third injured on Butler Pike near Skippack Pike in Whitpain Township. The accident occurred shortly before 6:30 PM on Tuesday evening, according to investigators.
Police reported that a 31-year-old man from Springfield, Delaware County, was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee southbound on Butler Pike when he struck three elderly women crossing the road. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, and all three victims were transported to the hospital.
Tragically, two of the women—a 79-year-old from Southampton, Bucks County, and an 82-year-old from Horsham Township—succumbed to their injuries. The third victim, an 80-year-old woman from Warrington, Bucks County, survived but remains hospitalized. Authorities have not released details about her condition.
