Westport, CT – Teen Killed in Dirt Bike and Dump Truck Collision on Old Hill Rd

Westport, CT (September 12, 2024) – An 18-year-old dirt biker. Maximilien Harper, tragically died in a collision with a dump truck on Wednesday afternoon, September 11. The crash occurred around 3:20 PM on Old Hill Rd when Harper’s dirt bike, traveling southbound, collided with a fully loaded dump truck going in the opposite direction.

The vehicles collided while navigating a sharp corner. The dump truck driver attempted to avoid the crash, veering off the road, hitting trees, and overturning. The truck’s contents spilled out during the crash.

Harper was pronounced dead at the scene. The dump truck driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Westport Police Detective Bureau and Accident Investigation Team are investigating the incident, with further details expected as the inquiry continues.
