West Palm Beach, FL (November 11, 2024) – A tragic collision at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Kirk Road claimed the life of one man and left another injured on the morning of November 9, 2024. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) deputies and traffic investigators responded to the scene at approximately 7:05 a.m.
The crash involved a 2012 Mazda driven by 50-year-old Leonardo De La Paz Ramos, who was traveling westbound when he allegedly ran a red light. The Mazda collided with a 2021 RAM pickup driven by 47-year-old Patrick Pearce, who was making a left turn under a green signal. The impact struck the passenger side of Pearce’s vehicle, and both vehicles came to rest in the intersection.
Emergency services transported both drivers to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Sadly, Ramos succumbed to his injuries at 7:42 a.m., while Pearce sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the hospital.
The PBSO continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
