Tragically, the 24-year-old driver, identified as Gaspar Lopez Hernandez, was pronounced dead. The passenger, also a male, remains in critical condition.

Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim, and we hope for a swift recovery for the individual still in critical condition.
SUV and Box Truck Accidents in Florida
Accidents involving box trucks, especially when they collide with smaller vehicles like SUVs, can lead to severe consequences. In this tragic incident, the failure to wear seatbelts resulted in the ejection of both individuals from the box truck, demonstrating the crucial role seatbelts play in preventing serious injuries and fatalities.
Box trucks, which are commonly used for commercial and transportation purposes, are much larger and heavier than typical vehicles, making them a significant hazard in collisions with passenger vehicles. These trucks can often be more difficult to maneuver in traffic, and accidents involving them tend to result in more serious consequences for those involved.
While the crash in West Palm Beach remains under investigation, this incident highlights the importance of safety precautions for all vehicle occupants, especially when traveling in larger vehicles such as box trucks. Seatbelts remain one of the most effective means of protecting individuals in the event of a collision.
In Florida, where the volume of traffic and the risk of accidents are high, motorists are encouraged to remain alert, obey traffic laws, and ensure all passengers are properly restrained.
Local Accident Reports will continue to follow the investigation and provide updates as more details become available.
