Webster Township, MN (February 4, 2025) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 35 near Milepost 72 in Rice County on Monday afternoon, resulting in injuries.
The crash was reported at 3:22 p.m., when a 2016 Toyota Rav4 traveling northbound on I-35 lost a tire. The loose tire then struck multiple southbound vehicles, including a 2020 Ford F350, a 2016 Mazda CX-5, and a 1996 Freightliner Semi.
Emergency responders, including Rice County Sheriff’s Office and Northfield Ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene to assist those involved. Paramedics provided aid to one injured driver before transporting him to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The driver of the Toyota Rav4, 76-year-old David Henry Fjeseth of Saint Louis Park, MN, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ridges Hospital for medical care. The remaining drivers, identified as Eric Marshall Knapp (41) of Lonsdale, Gentry Rayon Carr (57) of Faribault, and William James Raimann (39) of Mapleton, were uninjured and did not require hospitalization.
Authorities confirmed that seat belts were worn by all individuals involved, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The road conditions were reported to be dry at the time of the incident.
