Webster County, MO (January 13, 2025) – A serious crash involving a Chevrolet Suburban and a Peterbilt truck occurred on I-44, three miles west of Conway, on Sunday afternoon. The collision, reported at approximately 4:31 p.m., resulted in two individuals sustaining serious injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened as the Chevrolet Suburban was attempting to overtake another vehicle that changed lanes. The Suburban was forced off the left side of the road, returned to the roadway, and collided with the Peterbilt truck before overturning. Emergency responders arrived quickly to assist those involved.
The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban, a 52-year-old woman from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, suffered serious injuries and was transported by EMS to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. A 76-year-old female occupant of the Suburban, also from Oklahoma City, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Cox South Springfield for treatment. Both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Peterbilt truck, a 55-year-old man from Battlefield, Missouri, was not reported to have been injured. The Suburban was heavily damaged and towed from the scene by Marshfield Towing, while the Peterbilt sustained moderate damage and was towed by McDowell’s Wrecker.
