Webb County, TX (December 23, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle collision occurred Sunday evening on I-35 near mile marker 24, approximately 11 miles north of Laredo. The crash claimed the lives of both drivers involved, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The accident happened at about 8 p.m. when a black 2012 Audi SUV traveling southbound in the northbound lanes collided head-on with a gray 2014 Mazda traveling northbound. DPS confirmed that the driver of the Mazda, identified as 32-year-old Teofilo Ivan Granada, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Audi, 28-year-old Carlos Andres Jaime, was transported to a hospital in Laredo, where he was later pronounced dead.
