Washington, MO (October 18, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred on October 17, 2024, at approximately 2:35 PM at the intersection of MO-21 and Old Prairie Road. The Washington County authorities were alerted to the scene, where two vehicles were involved in a collision that resulted in injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 35-year-old Clara A. Hickam from Cadet, MO, was making a left turn when it slowed down. At the same time, a 2016 Ford F550, operated by 42-year-old Nathaniel J. Skaggs from Ellington, MO, was approaching from behind. It is believed that Mr. Skaggs was inattentive to the roadway ahead, leading to the front of his vehicle striking the rear of Ms. Hickam’s Suburban.
Emergency responders from Washington County Ambulance District arrived promptly to provide assistance. Ms. Hickam sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital for medical care. Mr. Skaggs’s vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene by Buckley’s Towing.
