Washington, MO (October 30, 2024) – A three-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday afternoon on the Missouri River Bridge, resulting in injuries to two individuals. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident took place at approximately 2:10 PM.
According to the highway patrol, 19-year-old Miriella Foster from Eureka was driving southbound on Highway 47 in a 2024 Kia Forte when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1991 Ford F-150. Following this initial impact, a 2020 Ford Explorer, driven by 38-year-old Andrea Simmons from Wentzville, who was traveling northbound behind the F-150, struck the rear of the F-150.
Both Miriella Foster and the driver of the F-150, 36-year-old Jaclyn Butler from Pacific, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. They were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment by personnel from the Washington Area Ambulance District. Fortunately, Andrea Simmons appeared uninjured in the incident. All drivers involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders from the Washington and Marthasville fire departments, along with the highway patrol, quickly arrived at the scene. The bridge was closed to traffic for approximately an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the area and ensure safety.
