Washington County, IL (November 21, 2024) – A serious multi-vehicle crash with entrapment and injuries occurred Thursday, prompting an extensive emergency response on State Rte 15 near Orchard Rd. Officials have confirmed that the roadway will remain closed for an extended period as crews manage the scene.
The Ashley Fire Department and Nashville Fire Department, along with Washington County Ambulance, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and Illinois State Police Reconstruction team, responded to the incident. Air Evac helicopters were also deployed to assist in transporting critically injured individuals to nearby medical facilities.
Emergency crews worked to extricate individuals trapped in their vehicles while paramedics provided immediate medical care to those injured. The number of people involved, as well as the extent of injuries, has not been disclosed as authorities continue their investigation.
