Warsaw Twp, MN (November 28, 2024) – A collision occurred Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 56 and County Road 9 in Goodhue County, involving two vehicles. According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 36-year-old Erin Jean Vanguilder of Bayfield, WI, was traveling northbound on Highway 52 when it collided with a 2008 Buick Lacrosse, driven by 21-year-old John Henry Liebl of Dennison, MN, who was traveling westbound on County Road 9. Emergency responders from Nerstrand Fire Department and Northfield Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban, Erin Vanguilder, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Northfield Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, all three passengers in the Suburban, including two young children ages 2 and 4 and a 15-year-old female, were unharmed in the crash. All passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, which likely contributed to the lack of serious injuries.
John Henry Liebl, the driver of the Buick Lacrosse, was not injured in the crash, and there were no other passengers in his vehicle. It was reported that no alcohol was involved in the accident, and both drivers were using seat belts.
