Warren Twp, OH (January 28, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision claimed the life of a local man early Tuesday morning on State Route 45 near North River Road Northwest. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) responded to the scene at approximately 1:30 a.m.
According to OSHP, the driver who died, identified as 43-year-old Chad Coffee of Cortland, was traveling southbound on State Route 45 when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive. OSHP stated that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol is suspected to have played a role.
The crash prompted a temporary closure of the area while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
