Walton Twp, MI (March 5, 2025) – Two people lost their lives in a tragic single-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon in Eaton County’s Walton Township.
According to Michigan State Police, the crash occurred on Marshall Rd between Stine Rd and Bellevue Rd when a white Chevrolet Equinox veered off the roadway, drove onto the shoulder, and crashed into a tree. Both occupants— a 58-year-old male driver and a 44-year-old female passenger from Olivet—were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash. Investigators have not yet ruled out the possibility of a medical emergency, nor have they determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
The roadway was closed for several hours as troopers conducted their investigation.
