Walla Walla Co., WA (September 22, 2024) – A tragic car crash occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a Pasco man. The incident took place just after 3 a.m. on State Route 12, approximately 11 miles outside of Pasco.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a 40-year-old woman from Athena was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR 12 when she collided head-on with another vehicle. This vehicle was driven by 28-year-old Salvador Beltran of Pasco. Unfortunately, Beltran was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical care. Her current condition has not been disclosed. Authorities have confirmed that the crash is under investigation, and they have not yet released information regarding whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this wrong-way collision.
