Wakeman, OH (October 6, 2024) – A tragic house fire claimed the lives of a mother and her daughter early Saturday, October 5, in Huron County. The incident occurred on Verlin Street at approximately 8:15 AM.
According to Wakeman Assistant Fire Chief Sean Eschen, both victims died in the fire, and fortunately, there were no other reported injuries. The Wakeman Fire District expressed gratitude to those who assisted in extinguishing the flames and managing the scene.
The State Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire to determine how this devastating incident occurred.
