Virginia Beach, VA (February 21, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash on Sandbridge Road Monday evening left one person critically injured and caused a temporary road closure.
Virginia Beach Police reported that the accident occurred in the 800 block of Sandbridge Road at approximately 6:57 p.m. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported one individual to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities closed Sandbridge Road in both directions between New Bridge Road and Sandfiddler Road as the Virginia Beach Police Traffic Safety Unit conducted an investigation. A temporary detour was put in place near Dam Neck Base to help manage traffic flow. Officials have not yet provided an estimated time for the full reopening of Sandbridge Road.
