Vineland, NJ – Motorcyclist and Child Killed in Crash at Maple Ave & Becker Dr

Vineland, NJ (September 13, 2024) – A tragic collision on Thursday evening, September 12 claimed the lives of a motorcyclist and a 9-year-old passenger after their motorcycle crashed into an SUV. Authorities identified the motorcyclist as Addiel A. Ortiz, 31, of Millville, who was riding eastbound on Maple Ave when the crash occurred near Becker Dr.

The collision happened when the westbound SUV, driven by a 42-year-old woman from Ocean View, attempted to make a left turn into the Joseph E. Romano Sports Complex. Ortiz and a 9-year-old boy, identified by police as E.B., were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was unharmed.

Police have not filed charges yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
