Vienna, WV (January 31, 2025) – Two people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Grand Central Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to local authorities.
Vienna Patrolman A.L. Jones stated that the crash occurred at approximately 1:12 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Chick-fil-A. The accident was triggered when a Nissan Frontier pickup truck veered off the road in front of Home Depot in the 100 block of Grand Central Ave. Witnesses reported that the truck then re-entered the roadway and rapidly accelerated before colliding with the back of a Chrysler sedan.

Emergency responders, including the Vienna Police Department, Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wood County Crash Team, arrived at the scene to assist those involved.
Two male patients were transported to Camden Clark Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Their current conditions remain unknown.
The crash temporarily shut down all three northbound lanes of Grand Central Avenue before 1:30 p.m., with the center turn lane remaining open for traffic. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the crash, and the Vienna Police Department continues to investigate.
