Vandalia, MO (January 30, 2025) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of W State Street and S Walnut Street in Vandalia.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. when an 89-year-old woman from Vandalia, driving a 1999 Lincoln Town Car westbound, struck a 60-year-old female pedestrian.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and transported the injured pedestrian to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and was able to drive away from the scene following the incident.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash to determine any contributing factors.
