Valley Stream, NY (February 16, 2025) – A Queens man was arrested in Valley Stream on Friday evening after he was found unconscious at the wheel, later accelerating into another vehicle and injuring a police officer, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Authorities responded to Green Acres Road at approximately 5:15 PM, where they found Jeffrey Cabreja asleep in the driver’s seat of a blue 2023 Audi that was blocking traffic. As officers attempted to wake him up, Cabreja suddenly hit the gas, crashing into another vehicle and injuring a responding officer in the process.
Upon further investigation, police discovered crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Cabreja was taken into custody at the scene. The officer and others involved in the collision received medical attention, though details regarding the extent of their injuries have not been released.
