Unadilla, NE (November 28, 2024) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of a serious crash on Highway 2 near the County Road G intersection early Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 5:50 a.m. when a Chevrolet pickup, driven by a 17-year-old male from Tecumseh, collided head-on with a semi-truck. The young driver, who was traveling west in the eastbound lane, sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Lincoln for immediate treatment.
The semi-truck, driven by a 66-year-old man from Wellston, Ohio, also sustained significant damage. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Syracuse for treatment. The truck’s passenger, a 70-year-old man from Richmond, Indiana, was also hospitalized and taken to a Lincoln hospital. Fire and rescue units from both Unadilla and Syracuse responded to the scene alongside the Nebraska State Patrol, who are continuing their investigation into the crash.
