Tyrrell County, NC (December 5, 2024) – Two women were tragically killed in a head-on collision Tuesday evening on Highway 94 in Tyrrell County.
The accident occurred around 5:30 PM when 38-year-old Kamisha Basnight, of Columbia, attempted to pass another vehicle while traveling north. In doing so, her vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle driven by 68-year-old Kay Spencer, also from Columbia. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
