Tulsa, OK (February 1, 2025) – A man was taken to the hospital following a crash in east Tulsa early Saturday morning. The incident occurred near 31st and Memorial on East Skelly Drive, just after the driver of a truck lost control while traveling eastbound on I-44.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the driver attempted to avoid another vehicle that was merging into his lane. In doing so, the truck veered off the road, flipped over, and caught fire. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the passenger, who had become trapped inside the vehicle, was rescued. The passenger was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, though the extent of their injuries is currently unknown. Fortunately, the driver was not injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but authorities have confirmed that the driver’s attempt to avoid the merging vehicle contributed to the accident. At this time, no further details about the other vehicle involved have been released.
Our thoughts are with the injured passenger, and we wish them a quick and full recovery.
