Tucson, AZ (January 14, 2025) – A tragic motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon near East Broadway Blvd and South Craycroft Rd claimed the life of a 23-year-old rider. Tucson police identified the victim as E’mari Armond Phillips.
According to authorities, Phillips was riding a 2024 Yamaha YZF-R7 southbound on Craycroft Rd when he collided with a northbound 2008 Ford F-350. The Ford was turning left onto East Cooper St when the crash occurred. Phillips was transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Initial findings suggest that failure to yield while making a left turn by the Ford’s driver, as well as speeding by Phillips, were significant contributing factors to the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
Our deepest condolences are with the family and friends of E’mari Armond Phillips during this difficult time.
