Trinity County, CA – Two Injured in Logging Truck Accident on Hwy 299 near Fawn Lodge

Trinity County, CA (September 12, 2024) – A logging truck accident on Wednesday morning along Hwy 299 left two people with major injuries. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that around 6:50 a.m., Danny Milholland, driving a 2011 Peterbilt, lost control due to unsafe speed, causing the truck to overturn and spill logs into the eastbound lane.

Jolene Eye, driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata, attempted to avoid the logs but was struck, pushing her vehicle down an embankment. Both Eye and her passenger, Carmen Busbee, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Mercy Medical Center.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
