Town of Stephenson, WI (December 26, 2024) – A fatal one-vehicle rollover crash occurred on County Highway X near Silver Creek Rd in the Town of Stephenson on Tuesday. The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the incident.
Authorities report that 25-year-old Chase M. Cutty, of Crivitz, WI, was driving west on County Highway X when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. Cutty lost control of his car during the maneuver, veering into a ditch and striking several trees.
Cutty, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators indicate that speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
