Toledo, OH (November 14, 2024) – A road worker sustained serious injuries after being struck by a semi-truck while working at traffic lights on Airport Highway near Spring Meadows West Drive on Wednesday evening. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reported the incident occurred around 8:00 PM in front of a Taco Bell.
According to OSHP, the worker was using a boom truck to service or prepare to service the traffic lights when the semi-truck collided with the vehicle. The impact caused significant injuries to the worker, who was rushed to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, their condition has since stabilized.
Troopers are still investigating the crash and have not determined fault. Additional updates are expected as the investigation continues.
