Toledo, OH (January 1, 2025) – A Toledo police officer sustained injuries following an overnight crash on Cherry St near Central Ave in north Toledo. The incident occurred during New Year’s celebrations and temporarily disrupted traffic in the area.
According to authorities, the crash involved a Toledo Police Department cruiser and a white GMC Yukon. The officer was transported to a local hospital for examination and is expected to recover fully, police said. The driver of the Yukon was uninjured in the collision.
Officials have not confirmed whether alcohol may have played a role in the crash. A portion of Cherry St was temporarily closed while officers investigated the scene, but it has since reopened.
