Thurston County, WA (February 17, 2025) – A motor vehicle collision blocked one lane of eastbound State Route 8 near Rock Candy Mountain on Monday evening, prompting a response from the Washington State Patrol and the McLane Black Lake Fire Department.
According to reports, a white Ford tow truck towing a trailer was involved in the crash but fled the scene, leaving the trailer behind. A witness followed the truck to Greenwood Drive Southwest before losing sight of it. Troopers are currently searching for the suspect vehicle.
Emergency responders evaluated one patient for injuries, and at 5:46 p.m., officials confirmed that the injured individual was transported to a hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to locate the hit-and-run driver and determine the cause of the accident.
