Thornton, CO (October 27, 2024) – A devastating accident occurred on Saturday night, resulting in the tragic deaths of four individuals. At approximately 8 p.m., the Thornton Police Department responded to a two-car collision at the intersection of Thornton Parkway and Washington Street.
According to preliminary reports, one vehicle struck another at the intersection, leading to a catastrophic fire in the car that was hit. Unfortunately, the fire trapped all four occupants inside, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders, including multiple fire trucks, arrived to manage the situation, and a tow truck was seen at the scene around 10 p.m. A tarp was placed over the vehicle that caught fire as part of the response efforts.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The intersection was closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation, reopening around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
