Golf Cart Accidents and DUI in Florida
Golf carts are a common mode of transportation in communities like The Villages, but they are not without risks. Unlike traditional vehicles, golf carts lack seat belts and other safety features, making ejections a serious concern during sudden maneuvers or crashes.
Driving under the influence (DUI) is a serious offense in Florida, and it applies to golf carts just as it does to cars. A DUI manslaughter charge can result in severe legal consequences, including imprisonment, fines, and loss of driving privileges.
For families who have lost a loved one in a DUI-related crash, Florida law provides options for seeking justice and financial compensation through wrongful death claims. This can help cover medical bills, funeral costs, and emotional suffering.
To improve safety, all golf cart drivers should remain sober, follow traffic laws, and operate with caution, especially in residential areas. If you or a loved one has been impacted by a golf cart accident, seeking legal guidance can help ensure your rights are protected.
