Texas County, MO (November 11, 2024) – A serious vehicle accident occurred on Highway BB, six miles south of Licking, leaving two individuals injured. Emergency responders, including the Texas County Ambulance and Phelps Air Helicopter, were dispatched to the scene.
The crash happened at approximately 2:15 PM and involved a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old female from Licking, MO, failed to negotiate a curve. The Tahoe veered off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, crossed the road, and ultimately struck a tree.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by Phelps Air Helicopter to Cox South Hospital. A 24-year-old female passenger from Pawhuska, OK, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Texas County Ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Neither individual was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Jay’s Automotive at the owner’s request.
