Texarkana, TX (November 27, 2024) – The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Monday morning on the shoulder of US-82, near the intersection of County Road 3111, just west of Malta.
At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Monday, November 25, Texas State Troopers responded to the scene of the crash. According to DPS officials, a 44-year-old man was pushing a motorcycle along the shoulder of US-82, heading west towards DeKalb. While on the shoulder, he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene and remains unidentified. Texas State Troopers have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Texarkana Highway Patrol Communications Office at 903-255-5701.
