Temple, TX (November 30, 2024) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a deadly single-vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning on SW HK Dodgen Loop. The crash, which took place in the 2700 block of SW HK Dodgen Loop near 57th St., was reported around 1:00 AM and resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
According to Temple Police, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a cement barricade and caught fire. Emergency responders were quick to the scene, where they found the two occupants of the vehicle tragically deceased. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman. No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash.
The Temple Fire Department and police officers worked together to extinguish the flames, and crews closed off the stretch of Loop 363 between 57th St. and surrounding areas until about 8:30 AM to clear the wreckage and conduct an investigation. The Temple Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
