Taney, MO (October 18, 2024) – A traffic incident occurred on October 17, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM on Highway 86, two miles west of Ridgedale. The accident prompted a response from local law enforcement and emergency services.
Preliminary reports indicate that the crash involved two vehicles: a 2021 Buick Encore and a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 towing a trailer. The Dodge Ram, driven by 77-year-old Larry W. Hall from Theodosia, MO, was traveling eastbound when the towed unit became detached and crossed the centerline into the path of the westbound Buick Encore, driven by 56-year-old Davey F. Russell from Mount Vernon, KY. To avoid a collision with the detached trailer, the Buick traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Emergency responders transported 59-year-old Sharon A. Russell, an occupant of the Buick, to Cox Hospital in Branson, MO, for treatment of minor injuries. Both drivers were reported to be wearing safety devices at the time of the incident.
