Sykesville, MD (January 21, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash with entrapment near Sykesville Road and Springfield Avenue late Monday afternoon. The collision was reported shortly before 5:00 p.m., prompting a rapid response from Sykesville Fire units, including Engine 124, Rescue Squad 12, Medic 128, Chief 12-3, and on-duty Carroll County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (CCDFEMS) crews.
Upon arrival, responders found one occupant trapped inside a vehicle. Crews worked quickly to stabilize and extricate the individual, completing the extrication in just nine minutes. Three individuals were evaluated at the scene, with two transported for medical care by Medic 128 and Howard Medic 35. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Crews remained on the scene for approximately 40 minutes before returning to service. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their swift recovery.
