Wilson Jeune, a 59-year-old passenger in Moise’s truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dempsey was transported to a nearby medical facility but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Moise’s condition has not been disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine why the westbound semi crossed the median, leading to the catastrophic collision. This incident highlights the ongoing safety concerns on the Ohio Turnpike, which has now seen 19 fatalities in 2024—the highest number since 1994.
